Really quick filler post. Once upon a time, back when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I used to have a blog. But before that, I had a tutorials website on setting up Linux servers, and it was getting about 30k visitors a month. I was hosting everything out of my house on my Fios connection. Well, we sold the house, moved to where there was cable, and I didn’t want to deal with 3rd party servers and it all went bye-bye. I feel it was a big mistake. Anyway, I’m paying for hosting now for something totally unrelated and figured I’d use some of that unlimited domains option. My domain is back online – hence you’re reading this.
I haven’t dealt with WordPress in years. It has changed completely since I last used it. Is it supposed to be simpler to operate now? Because I don’t feel it is. I was fighting with the patterns on the Twenty Twenty-Four theme. Back in the day all I had to choose was show posts for the homepage. This time around I do it but there is a bunch of stuff all over the place. After finally deleting it you see what the site is now. Maybe it’s the theme causing the issues. Who knows.
Hopefully the site will have a new theme by the time the search engines find it and it’ll look all pretty, but at the time of this writing, it’s ugly.
I should probably say what the purpose of this blog is. The title should give it away, but let me spell it out for you. I’m going to post articles, tutorials, announcements, etc on my programming experiences and personal projects. Linux, WebDev, scripts, applications, mobile, and other stuff. I’ve been doing it for decades now. It’s really all I know. There will be no frequency with the posts as my time is limited to the weekends. It is what it is.
For the time being I need to build my main site and theme this blog. That’s number one on the agenda. The main site ( https://www.tonybhimani.com/ ) will be the brief summary of me, my projects, and link to what you see here. I’ll get to it later this evening. It’s almost dinner time and I’m hungry.
I don’t know if this thing has the Like or Subscribe stuff like YouTube, but you can always bookmark.
